COVID19 Update From Our General Manager | Dudley Industries
April 24, 2020
We hope you are staying safe and well in these peculiar times. Back in March we wrote explaining the steps we were taking to safeguard our team whilst trying to maintain production to meet our customer needs. We just wanted to update you and advise that we are continuing to provide ‘business as usual’ as much as possible in line with social distancing guidelines.
We are currently operating a five day shift pattern with an additional four night shifts. This rota allows us to maximise production output whilst minimising the number of colleagues on the premises at any time. Working ‘socially distant’ has become our new normal as everyone adapts to the new ways of working. Some tasks inevitably require two people and in these cases colleagues are supplied with full PPE.
All our staff who can work from home continue to do so in order to reduce the number of people on site to help protect those that cannot work elsewhere.
We have also appointed additional colleagues to help maintain our site hygiene and cleanliness.
As you can imagine we are experiencing high demand for our hygiene dispensers which is a challenge we are proud to say our team are stepping up to. We are working to produce over 2,000 stainless steel hygiene dispensers over the next few weeks to meet demand. Our design team are also looking at designs for new innovative products to support increased hand hygiene.
We are continuing to support all our Contract Manufacturing clients. Our premises remain closed to visitors but our team are always available on the phone or virtually via Google Hangouts. We also have lots of video footage so we can provide virtual tours around our factory until the time we can meet again.
So, pleased be assured that we continue to be fully operational and the safety and welfare of our team continues to be our first priority. If you have any questions during this time please feel free to call or email us.
In the meantime, stay safe, follow all the guidelines and we look forward to being able to meet again face to face and switch the kettle on.
Kind regards
Gordon Higham
General Manager
